Homelessness keeps getting worse in Los Angeles despite all the talk by local politicians. 40,000 homeless are living on our streets and parks, and that number will skyrocket 86% in the next year if we do not act. This is quickly becoming a massive public health and safety crisis throughout the city.
The L.A. City Council needs to pass a compassionate clean up and shelter ordinance, and fund temporary shelters now. These actions would move homeless off our streets into shelters, where they can get the services they need to rebuild their lives. It will also help us clean up our streets and make our neighborhoods safe and livable again.
The Council is discussing options for this policy change now. Send a letter to your L.A. City Councilmember telling them you want real action on the homeless crisis. We can all make a difference!
